About Our Program

• Upon successful completion of our MTO - Approved BDE full 40 hour program (20 hours in class, 10 hours workbook (home study) and 10 hours in car), our graduates become eligible for an earlier road test. (The course can reduce your wait by up to 4 months.)
• Our comprehensive in-class programs help new drivers learn to become safe and confident drivers by using modern teaching techniques.
• We offer automatic transmission in-vehicle training and are experts at passing road tests.

• We have weekend and evening sessions as well as 4 day Holiday and weekday courses available. **

Myths OR Facts?

• "The insurance discount that some driving schools offer with certification is higher."     
  
  •  The truth is that the certification from the ministry is the same for every ministry-approved driving school and insurance companies recognize them all equally.
• "All driving schools teach the same.  There is no difference."  
  
  • There is a big difference in the quality of instruction available to students.  Check with others who have already taken driver training before you commit.  We will let our word-of-mouth speak for us.  We have had many students from certain other driving schools come to us and say things like "I never got taught that / I never learned that", "You explain things in a way that makes sense", and "I wish I had come here (National) first"
• "All driving schools teach defensive driving"  
  
  • The truth is that some schools focus mostly on how to pass the road test.  They spend most of the lessons driving around the testing area so their students learn how to pass the test; not how to handle different driving situations and types of drivers.  At National, we aim much higher to offer our students the necessary training of skills and knowledge to be able to handle whatever comes across their path.  We teach a defensive approach that can help keep our students safe by using the right attitude and to proactively assess potential threats which can allow them time to make the right decisions.
